Course Description
The Teamcenter Engineering Installation course addresses the procedures for proper Teamcenter Engineering and Oracle installations.
The course begins with a discussion of system and network requirements for a successful implementation of Teamcenter Engineering. Students will go through the steps of configuring an operating system as well as planning the physical database layout. Hands-on activities include the installation of Oracle and Teamcenter Engineering as well as the use of tools to monitor and maintain Oracle in a Teamcenter Engineering environment.
The class also covers the necessary skills to manage and troubleshoot the Teamcenter Engineering environment after installation.

This course is intended for:
- Anyone responsible for the installation of a Teamcenter Engineering/Oracle production system - typically system administrators, DBAs and IT system support professionals.
The role of the intended audience for this class is different from that of the Teamcenter Engineering Application Administration class, although one individual could fill both roles.

- Several years of system administration expertise
- Understanding of network planning
- General understanding of SQL databases
- General understanding of Teamcenter Engineering functionality
- If the student's job responsibilities include working with product structure, workflow, change management and other Teamcenter Engineering applications along with installing the software then the student needs to attend Product Data Management.
- If the student's job responsibilities only pertain to installing the software and the student is not familiar with the basics of the Teamcenter Engineering interface then it is suggested that the Teamcenter Engineering for Consumers (Rich Client) class be taken.
