Course Description

IMAGEWARE
MODELING
course code MDA190
duration 5 days
tuition $2300 (US)

Imageware Modeling teaches both fundamental and intermediate skills and methods for utilizing scanned or digitized point data to create verifiable, high-quality surface models. Learning skin-based philosophy and its comprehensive array of modeling and modification tools dramatically reduces the amount of time it takes to create a high-quality model for any downstream process.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is intended for all Imageware users including:

  • Designers
  • Engineers
  • And Manufacturers who have a need for Imageware modeling
USER LEVEL

New

PREREQUISITES

Existing 3D CAD knowledge is beneficial.

PRIMARY COURSE TOPICS
  • Evaluate and identify both good and bad qualities of measurement data.
  • Segment measurement data into functional "networks" (features).
  • Clean or smooth the features as needed.
  • Use the "networks" to define accurate and/or smooth NURBS curves.
  • Analyze the curves to verify qualities such as accuracy or smoothness, create NURBS surfaces using measurement data, curves, and/or existing surfaces information.
  • Align separate measurement data sets to create complete measurement models.
  • Align measurement models to CAD models for comparisons.
  • Modify models to achieve optimal qualities.
  • Verify a model's integrity at every stage of the Imageware modeling process to ensure accuracy.
